Minutes of 1/31/'08 meeting
Here are the minutes made by me (Rafa), enjoy!:
UNESCO STUDENT AMBASSADORS MINUTES 1/31/’08
I. Everyone introduced themselves, lots of new people!
II. Joe Tarantino spoke on the Month of Kindness (MOK)
a. Annual series of events every November that promotes kindness centered activities
b. Integrate other organizations with the MOK to help out with activities
c. Free advertising for UNESCO Student Ambassadors
d. Our events can be put on a calendar
III. Rafa spoke on the Human Rights Workshop
a. Full report due for next meeting
b. Basically Drug trafficking workshop that will pool minds to figure out how to help people, especially the youth, to understand the link between drug trafficking, consumerism, and human rights
IV. Reflected on Soup kitchen,
a. Need to get contact info. To go again
V. Thinking of going to local middle schools/high schools
a. Need contact information
VI. Spencer spoke about picking up cans in the parking lot during spring weekend (?) early in the morning.
a. Interest expressed by high school students and others willing to wake up early
b. What will be done with the cans
VII. Groups split up into:
a. Women and Children
b. Education
c. And Health and the Environment
VIII. Group action plans for next week.
